Pam Ayres: Doggedly Onward

A Life in Poems

Pam Ayres comes to Tiverton for the first time with her show, Doggedly Onward.

The Bookseller magazine recently stated that, “after Ted Hughes, Pam Ayres is the UK’s best-selling poet since records began.”

“Who doesn’t feel warm, sentimental, and downright good when they think of Pam Ayres?    She’s a timeless talent and a glorious people’s poet.”     Glastonbury Festival 2022

Pam started her broadcasting career at BBC Radio Oxford in the 1970s, and she has now been making the nation laugh for over half a century – since 1975, when she first appeared on television.   Pam will talk about her latest book, DOGGEDLY ONWARD – A LIFE IN POEMS, which covers the period from the 1970s to 2020s.

Recent TV appearances include two series of The Cotswolds for Channel 5, This Morning, Alan Titchmarsh, Countdown and Would I Lie To You?

“We love her because she makes us laugh, but above all because we know she’s genuine.”   The Oldie Magazine, 2024
