“You were after Poetry”

A double bill of short plays for lovers of live performance theatre

TCAT pride themselves in being a venue that supports and encourages young and upcoming actors and theatre companies.  We are delighted to be bringing this play by TicTac Theatre to Tiverton, and would love to see as many of our local lovers of live performance there as possible.

Your actors for the evening are Hannah Brooks and Scott Goodair.

‘You Were After Poetry’ is the follow up production to TICTAC Theatre’s successful 2015 tour of ‘The Open Couple’.

A double bill of two short plays ‘You Were After Poetry’ by Steven Bloomer – A fast paced, witty, relationship comedy, showing one couples break-up and the after effects; paired with ‘The Bride To Be’ by Peter Quilter – Angela is marrying for the third time, amidst a barrage of bad omens and a dress resembling a parachute.

Brimming with cunning one-liners and heightened physical comedy, this hour long performance about human relationships is underlined with the company’s unique ethos of character driven story telling.

The production is directed by Jacquie Crago, voice coach for the RSC & National Theatre Productions ‘Warhorse’ & ‘One Man Two Governors’

TicTac Theatre?specialises in two hander and multi-role shows, touring a mixture of classical and contemporary pieces. Its ethos is to use the foundations of their training at Cygnet where the emphasis is on character driven story telling. Using minimal set Hannah and Scott wish to draw attention to the text and action of the play.
