Tiverton Concert Band

Come and join Tiverton’s prominent Concert Band for a double-bill of popular music.

Tiverton Concert Band can trace its history back to 1944 with the forming of the Tiverton Youth Orchestra under Ron Davey MBE. In 2003 the current concert band format was formed and 14 years later now boasts a membership of over 40 musicians of all ages and levels, and is proud to be encouraging Tiverton’s young musical talent. Instrumentation includes Woodwind, Brass and Percussion with what could be the most comprehensive selection of percussion instruments for any band in Devon!

Under the baton of Musical Director John Fitton, the 40 strong band will take you on a musical journey of old favourites and contemporary classics.

The band are very pleased to welcome the Take Note Community Choir as their guests this evening, together with Tiverton High School Musical Theatre Club.

Founded in April 2010 Take Note Community Choir is described as “a fun place for people of all ages to come and enjoy singing together”. They have a wide repertoire, from Gershwin to Queen, from folk songs to show songs and are sure to bring an entertaining mix and quality performance to our concert.
