(2016 production of Hamlet)
“A high energy and gripping 2 hours” (The Stage)
TCAT are delighted to welcome back The Festival Players Theatre Company, a professional theatre company delivering the best in open-air Shakespeare, committed to presenting the very best in touring theatre. The company continues to grow in reputation internationally. 2014 saw a change to the Festival Players set up; the company now tours as an all-male rep company staging two shows featuring the same team of performers.
The 2018 touring production is THE WINTER’S TALE. Written by Shakespeare in his later years, The Winter’s Tale is an intriguing mix of drama and comedy.
Sparked by an obsessive envy of a perceived relationship between his Queen and his oldest friend, Leontes, King of Sicilia, sets in motion a train of events which affect two kingdoms and two generations; there is jealousy and joy, revenge and romance, loss and discovery, remorse and revelry, and an amazing revelation.
Grounds open from 6.00pm
This is an outdoor performance (indoor performance if poor weather) in the grounds of Tiverton Community Arts Theatre. Please bring your own chairs, cushions, rugs and make yourself comfortable. Picnics welcome. Refreshments, including bar on site.
