The Sound of Blue Note

An evening of jazz

Enjoy an outstanding evening of Jazz with some of the country’s top Jazz musicians who meet together as ‘The Sound of Blue Note’. Focusing on the iconic period of the 1950’s and 60’s, the band plays tunes by legends Hank Mobley, Freddie Hubbard, Art Blakey, Horace Silver and more.

The Sound of BlueNote is five of the most prominent musicians in the South of England paying tribute to that legendary jazz label – BlueNote Records. All the material is taken directly from the original recordings and is performed with the same swinging intensity that defines the BlueNote sound.

As well as the core Blue Note Band, we are delighted to announce that they will be joined for the evening at TCAT by legendary Jazz Trombonist, Mark Nightingale.  Mark has won British Jazz Awards for nearly 20 years, with the last award in 2018. Mark has played or recorded with the world’s biggest Jazz and Pop stars, including – Slide Hampton, Wycliffe Gordon, Jiggs Whigham, Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams, Steely Dan, Sting – and many more!

This will be an outstanding evening of music in Tiverton that any Jazz lover just won’t want to miss!

Ticket is General Admission with seating around tables and chairs or some tiered seating on a first come, first served basis on the night.

Leader Terry Quinney – Saxophone,  Andy Urquhart – Trumpet,  Phil Doyle – piano,  Ben Taylor – Double bass,  Andy Chapman – drums,  and special guest trombonist Mark Nightingale.
