Neil Burns is known to be a melodic guitarist steeped in the jazz guitar tradition.

‘The Neil Burns Trio’ are a funky, Bebop, hard swinging hard groovin’ Modern jazz trio, who celebrate the rich history of the organ trio through Wes Montgomery, Grant Green to John Scofield, Larry Goldings and some original music that pays homage to the tradition with a contemporary edge.

For this special night at TCAT, the trio are being joined by two other top musicians –

Terry Quinney – Saxophone

For TCAT patrons who came to see ‘Sound of Blue Note’, you will already know the quality of Terry’s work!  We are delighted he is returning to Tiverton once again, this time to join the Neil Burns band.

Steve Waterman – Trumpet

Steve is one of the top British Jazz trumpet players, both at home and on the international scene.  Beginning his career at Trinity College of Music London, Steve has gone on to record many critically acclaimed albums in his own name, as well as appearing as soloist in a huge variety of bands.  Steve is now Professor of Jazz Trumpet at Trinity College, where it all began!

We are so delighted to be welcoming musicians of this calibre to TCAT and that we are being recognised in the Jazz community as a friendly venue with an enthusiastic audience.
