MEET THE CANDIDATES: FREE EVENT
Wednesday 19th June 7.30pm.
In advance of the election of July 4th, the community group ‘Fund Our Tivvy High’ is proud to produce, the only public hustings where all major candidates will be in attendance.
Ian Liddell-Grainger (Conservative) – recently MP for the Bridgwater and West Somerset
Rachel Gilmour (Lib Dems) – formerly director of the NFU and head of strategy at the Environment Agency
Jonathan Barter (Labour) – a secondary school teacher
Frederick Keen (Reform UK) – businessman
The event will be chaired by George Parker, the political editor of the Financial Times, and a former pupil of Tiverton High School.
Over ninety minutes the candidates will answer questions from the audience on subjects such as the food and farming, the cost-of-living crisis, immigration, the state of our rivers, national security and why there is still no plan to construct a new building for the High School in Tiverton?
We hope that this event will bring insight and enlightenment – and even – entertainment. It is for voters to decide who to cast their vote for.
The election is one of the few times that we as citizens get to decide who should run the country. This event is one of the few where you get to see and test those who will represent you.
Please come. Please join in. Submit questions in advance to ourtivvyhigh@gmail.com
